Austria produced coins containing silver right through the 20th century. These included coins for circulation until the early 1960's and a number of non circulating legal tender commemoratives that are still being produced to the current day. The fineness of Austrian silver coins during the 20th century has included 64%, 83.5%, 90%, and 92.5%. The 25 Schilling, 50 Schilling, and 100 Schilling commemoratives of the 1950's, 1960's, 1970's can be of particular interest to collectors because they are often available at little or no premium over the silver content. To determine the amount of silver in your Austrian coins just enter the numbers of each coin that you have and the total amount of silver and the silver value will be automatically displayed!
