\The Australian 50 cent is a very popular collector coin with many budding collectors starting this way. The Australian 50 cent is a dodecagon, that is it has 12 equal sides. It is manufactured on a planchet made from cupro nickel which is composed of 75% copper and 25% Nickel. It has plain edges and each coin weighs 15.55g and measures 31.51mm.
