If you collect coins then the refrain 'learn to grade coins' probably goes around your head like a broken record. If you're going to submit coins to PCGS or some other third party coin grading companies don't go thinking that this negates the need for you to grade your own coins. As far as I am concerned it makes it doubly important. We've just posted up an article over at The Purple Penny on the importance of grading coins for yourself.
