The Australian Coin Mintage information on this site is comprehensively researched and is designed to be the most accurate source for Australian coin mintages. Where possible we've sourced mintage information directly from Royal Australian Mint annual reports or the Royal Australian Mint Website. Where this isn't possible the information has been gleaned from Australian Coin Review (ACR) magazines, Australian Coin and Banknote Magazines (CAB), and when all else fails, from Australian coin catalogues. As time passes all information will be verified against data from from RAM Annual Reports and journal/magazine articles. We aim to provide a source of mintage informaton completely independent to any existing catalogues.
Right now we're working hard on the decimal series of Australian coins because this information is probably the easiest to procure. We hope (at some stage) to move onto pre-decimal coinage.

How We Source Our Data
All circulation coin mintages are sourced directly from RAM Annual Reports or the Royal Australian Mint Website. Non Circulating Legal Tender (NCLT) mintages post 1999 are also sourced directly from RAM Annual Reports. NCLT from the 1966 to 1999 period has either been sourced from RAM Reports (where we had the report available), ACR or CAB articles, or (as a last resort) various Australian coin catalogues. We're in the process of acquiring the RAM Annual Reports we're currently missing so that NCLT mintages during this time period are ENTIRELY sourced from RAM Reports or independent ACR/CAB articles. The ACR/CAB articles we are sourcing our information from only use information directly extracted from RAM Annual Reports. Please see the References page for more information on our sources.
